Only 2 varsities make it to the top 100 QS Asia ranking 2023

Only two Pakistani universities have made the top 100 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Asia University Ranking for 2023.

The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) was ranked 67th, and Quaid-i-Azam University ranked 95th.

The QS Asia ranking 2023 is based on academic and employer reputations, the number of PhD-holding staff, and the percentage of international students. This year’s ranking list includes 760 Asian universities.

A total of 50 institutes featured in the list are from Pakistan, China- 128, India- 118, Japan- 106, and South Korea- 88.

The University of the Punjab is now ranked 140th, a 92-point improvement in just four years after ranking 232nd in 2018.

According to the most recent rankings, PU is among the world’s 100-150 best universities in the field of petroleum engineering, and it is among the top 100 to 130 universities in the field of religious studies.
