Stolen and illegal phones are used throughout the country and for the control of that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has notified ‘Mobile Devices Identification, Registration and Blocking Regulations, 2017’. It is to ensure that no duplicate or non-identified mobile phones are in use.

Pakistan might ban Facebook over blasphemous content

The government of Pakistan might put a ban on Facebook over blasphemous content being circulated on various Facebook Pages. A petition has already been submitted in Islamabad High Court to ban the giant social networking website. According to the petition submitted at IHC today, a plea has been made to temporarily block Facebook till the blasphemous is removed fully.

In a time span of 6 months, the subscribers increased from 29 million to 37 million showing an immense increase of 8 million.

Youtube, the world’s largest video-sharing website, is now available in Pakistan after about 4 years of ban. In 2012, the Lahore High Court had issued the ban orders upon Youtube’s failure to remove controversial content which led to ban on the website on all ISPs across Pakistan.
