3G/4G users in Pakistan showing a brisk increase

According to the statistics of December 2016, there has been an immense increase in the number of 3G/4G users in Pakistan the fiscal year 2015-2016.

Pakistan has seen an immense increase in the number of 3G/4G mobile users in the fiscal year 2015-2016.  According to the statistics of December 2016, released by PTA the number of 3G/4G users reached 37.57 million. In a time span of 6 months, the subscribers increased from 29 million to 37 million showing an immense increase of 8 million.

The 3G users of Mobilink, Zong, and Telenor reached 12.326 million, 7.134 million and 9.897 million respectively with Mobilink showing the largest number of subscriptions. Previously Ufone users were continuously showing a decreased number of customers but by the end of last the year its subscribers have reached to 5.305 million. Warid LTE subscriptions have reached 637,363 whereas 4G Zong Customers have reached 2,274,157 subscribers.

Teledensity (the number of telephone connections for every hundred individuals living within an area) has reached 69.80% and the overall mobile broadband subscribers sum up to 40,147,991.
